Thread: Would it be safe to temporarily run these damaged teins ?

I need to get my teins rebuilt so I'm considering temporarily running on these teins for now. They have some damage where the damper mounts to the LCA.

I do not plan to do any hard driving in these coils.
Bottom line is: Would it be safe for me to temporarily run these? I will be driving easy and drive on good roads 90% of the time.

Edit: The part number and model listed on the damper seems a little fishy. I already looked up the part number and nothing came up. And on top of that it says "sentre". Does anyone have info on the part no.?

Im sure you can heat that up and bend it back with some vice grips

Yup, dsp16-kuSS2 should be the part number. Weird. Lol @ Sentre. I'll double check on my car when I wake up.

My Tein SS's said the same thing. They were some of the first made some time ago. That set is probably from a similar time frame. They are real. I would run the damaged one too just bend it back with vice grips as best you can.

I would put them on the knuckle and tap them back into shape with a BFH, squirt with some green paint and call it a day.

Looks like somebody used that thing as a hammer! I wouldnt use too much heat. Struts are sensitive to heat and will blow if the oils and gasses inside expand too much. But a nice big pair of pliers will bend them back. Totally safe unless the metal is torn or cracked. If pliers don't give you enough leverage, you can persuade it with a light hammering.
