Thread: Raising the SubFrame

Saw this mod for 240sx guys and was curious if anyone tried raising the subframe for our FWD cars?

Gains: Improve roll center, but at the loss of some traction.

Not sure if the loss of traction applies to FWD guys though.

wouldnt really be possible on a b13 without a lot of custom.

Vadim, you know we don't have a subframe, right?

Absolutely none of what that mod is about applies to our cars. None of it. We can't raise the suspension pickup points on our cars like that. We can't correct for lowered geometry like that. If we raise up the front, that involves raising the entire engine too. Etc. Etc.

Edit: I was wrong, I guess the FWD cars do have subframes as well.

now what would be cool as hell would be is a double wishbone suspension conversion kit.

Looks like for us it's called the Front Suspension Member. At least on the P11, the sub frame (easier to say :-P) controls how low your lower control arms will sit. Which I can see adjusting the roll center.

Shocks > Struts.

you can raise suspension pickups with some work. Im changing the rear suspension pickups on my car.. a plasma cutter, some metal, and a welder is all you need.
