Brake load sensor - Non ABS b13/n14
I have a question regarding the "brake load sensor" on our cars.
Not sure if that's the correct name for this part. It's that little plunger looking unit sitting in the rear wheel well. It has a little metal arm that connects to the chassis.
I was told this is a load sensor for the brakes. I.e. informing the car how much load is at the back of the car so that brake bias can be distributed correctly.
However, the metal arm is continiously knocking and rattling agains my 3" exhaust which as to pass between the rear control arms and the chassis. There is simply not enough room to route anything differently it seems.
Since these models don't have ABS, do these Load Sensors actually work or perform any real function? The cars brakes seem purely mechanical to me and I don't really see this part having any purpose. I want to remove it. BUT, don't wanna mess up the cars braking or cause a dangerous situation.
