I use the mounts in the picture for the front, and also the rears that aren't pictured. They are solid mounts with spherical bearings and I feel much safer than running homemade spacers. The rears mount from underneath so you get about 1/2 an inch of ride height increase. I'll have to look for the pictures.

I don't know if that's the solution. They look thin. That and $160 seems a bit much. Not to mention, I really wasn't looking to degrade ride quality with a solid mount.

To keep costs down, the outside diameter is likely going to be the same so they can use the same chassis mounts and bushings. Nissan likes to make the bars less stiff by going with hollow bars. At least that is how it is on the B13s. The lesser models got a (32mm?) hollow bar up front, and the SE-R model got a solid bar of the same diameter.

Hmm, guess I'll have to detach one and see if it's hollow by the weight of it. Thanks.

Threw it into a low speed 180 turn at the limit and it is closer to where I want it. They way it is now I think it would be fairly stable in a high speed 4 wheel drift on track. For say an autox, it could use some more rotation. I think just removing the front bar would get it there. I think i'm gonna tweak the ride height a little and call it good. It should be a good setup for the Convention and all it's shananagans, including the 14 hours of travel time.

Non SE-R ( & SE/SE-L) B14's didn't come with a front bar, I know the one I used to owned (GLE) didn't have one.

My 200SX base model B14 (1995) had a Front Sway bar. (first car)

Beams are super lame but have fun with it Hank! I know you will do the best stuff you can do and apply all the right steps toward making it RIGHT!

I spotted a few base model 200sx's at the yard the other day. Going back today to get some other things for the Neon. I'll have a look at them to see if they'd be something to help the cause. That might just be final tweak I need. Thanks for the tip, Kyle.

It will def. help the front strut based suspension tighten up a good bit. The bar is quite large, I think it is a 1 inch bar.

Now, in the FSM I just checked, it lists the SE and SE-R having the same front sway bar.

I have not had my base model since 2003, but I swore that it had one. I hope I don't send you on a wild goose chase.

Not a goose chase at all. I scored a bar from a 1.6l 200sx se. It measured right around 25mm. Which would concur with your thoughts of it being 1". It is hollow. The oem bar on the SE-L measures right around 28mm. I haven't removed it yet, so I don't know if it's hollow. Even if it is, the 200sx bar should make a difference in the right direction. I'm going to try and get it installed in the next few days. I'll keep you posted.

Edit: The oem bar on the SE-L is indeed 28mm not 30mm, as was previously stated. It's also a solid bar. The 25mm bar should give a 10lb. weight reduction in addition to more rotation....bonus!

Just read this thread from it's beginning and I must say it's an interesting read. The Whiteline bar looks awesome and I do like that it is mounted on the frame instead of the rear trailing arms like Progress is. However I have the Progress on my B14, and I've had it along with a bent rear beam by Mr Foltz for about six years now and I don't have anything bad to say about the bar. I have never tracked my car so perhaps my knowledge is limited but I had this car at triple digit speeds for extended lengths of time with taking corners and it has never felt unsafe, once. Perhaps it could be because of my other supporting suspension mods but in my opinion I would call it a 'bad'bar, although the Whiteline does seem to be superior in engineering just based on the attachment point. Someone should really do a side by side comparison of both. Just my .02
