Thread: coil over inserts on performance struts

my car came with some inserts on them on the stock struts, not sure if they are name brand or some ebay special shit. but question is will they be a good combo for some GR2 struts or something similar?

you dont know what they are so we cant really know what they are either. no telling if its anything good. GR-2 is a stock strut actually its a cheap replacement for the stock strut. if they are decent coilovers they may not be too bad if properly mounted to some AGX struts or koni inserts in the stock strut housings. you will blow GR-2 struts in less than a year even with moderately lower springs, at least i did way back in the day when i thought lowering springs were an acceptable suspension item.

They are ebay coil sleeves. Duh I recommend either actual lowering springs on AGXs or full body coilovers. The ebay coil sleeves are extremely unsafe.

i ran sprints on kyb gr2's for quite some time and never blew them. if you dont run at the very least, a cut bumpstop, then yes, you will kill them prematurely. well, actually, theyre going to die an early death anyways, but it will be accelerated without bumpstops of some sort.

the main point is that its not a performance setup by any measure and is unsafe and for the money spent on all new struts just spend a hair more and get some standard Eibach springs or spend $1000 and get a system that was engineered for proper handling and performance

i agree. get some springs and some struts you can afford and call it a day.

i guess they are gonna get tossed in scrap pile.
