One of the reasons that I started this thread was to show the gentleman of whom you are talking about that it is acceptable to mod your suspension if you know what your doing. And you take the steps so secure your safety and others.

that was really cool of you man, your work looks pretty good but is there any way of doing this without any welding?

I dont think you could get a safe product without welding, maybe endlinks- one standard, one reverse thread, a normal and reverse tap and a section of chromoly that is bored to the correct dimension to tap for the endlinks. Which I may do in the future, other than that welding is the only way, unfortunately if you weld a little too hot the metal surrounding the welds becomes quite brittle, so heat is a big thing here, hence why I decided to TIG it so I could control the heat as much as I could.

So I got a little board at work and drew up a quick sketch of a lower control are that would work quite well in the areas of adjusting camber, caster and lengthening of the arms. When a co worker of mine gets the time he is going to drawl it up in solid works and do some stress analysis on the design and find out where the weak points are. Im also considering getting rid of the rod end/heim joint and just going with a stock bushing. In essence, rather than having a pillow ball mount at the top of the suspension, this would utilize one one the lower control arm and would allow more people with spring and shock combos to be able to adjust their camber to where they would like.

Let me know what you guys think about the design and where you see any potential problems

Thanks for your input in advance

cool work. theoretically, if you had money for a new set of wheels, would it be better to just get some different offset wheels from front to back instead of messing w/ the suspension to extend the wheels out?

Me personally, no i wouldnt be buying new wheels. i would rather pit the money somewhere else, wether it being into the suspension, motor, etc. that needed the attention. Now if your thoughts about extending your control arms either makes you have an uneasy feeling or you cant justify the money having someone else do it, then i would sayits a fair and justified idea for you to get new wheels. Im going to have to say, that there is nothing wrong with that route and i would rather do that then try something that you MIGHT not be capable of. I dont know your welding abilities, thats why i said it like that, not to take anything away from you.
