Personally, I am BIG proponent of second opinion ESPECIALLY if I am doing something for the first time (read: if my brother was not there when I first did a set of cams, I would have had an incorrectly installed shim and would have completely missed it.............)

Again, post up some pics and I am sure the knowledge of powers on this website will more than happily dissect and point you in the right direction hmong

ok guys, i just got back from meeting my teacher. he told me that its not the prettiest weld but it should hold/tack good together but he recommended me to add a brace under the arm and brace on each side so it could have more strength. also he told me to inspect them twice a week if i put them on my car. so next week im going back to my friend house and weld some braces around it.

couldnt find my camera so i decided to use my phone! quality sucks!!
here the side of the arms, i welded outside and in the inside for extra strength.

the top brace i add for the 1/2 gap, welded outside and inside for extra strength also.

here the bottom of the arm, also weld both side. there also a brace that fill the gap on the bottom but i dont think you guys can see it cause my phone camera quality sucks!

that is where you are wrong. I lifted my last truck 27 inches and did evereything myself in my driveway. I was/am very confident in my welds. this was not my first welding project unlike yourself.

i would recommend a thick plate on the bottom side of the control arm from the ball joint to atleast the sway bar mount.

also it looks like youve used a flux core welder. i would use a solid core.

that is what im going to do. weld some braces around the side and a brace under it with a thick plate covering it.

and yes i use an old flux core welder that's why i say that the weld came out sloppy, but at school we use solid core welder.
