Please inform us of your current welding experience. Please. If you have never welded anything before, your control arms SHOULD NOT be your first project.

Understand that, although not a full time welder, I am a fabricator and I have certifications for MIG and Stick welding. I had been welding and fabricating for many years before I modified my control arms. What you are planning on doing is NOT the same as welding an exhaust system for example.

Do not take what others have suggested as a pesonal attack or "hating". Even if their tone may seem harsh, they are just trying to stress the importance of doing this project the right way. Many may not agree on "stance", but they want you to know that this type of modificatin is not for a beginner. Understand that no one here wants to see anyone get in a wreck because they had to "prove" something. We all just want to see you modify your car in the safest way possible.

Please consider what I am saying to you in this post and think about your response before you reply.

im really not tryin to be a dick but its like your not taking safety seriously here man, its one thing if you hurt your self an cost your self a bunch of money, its another thing to hurt others an cost them money.

before you mount them, have the man in bold double check them to be safe.

plus, i wouldn't just extend your arms. i would do something like this

yes russell i know that your not attacking or hating, i know that every single people in this forum concern about me being safe and doing it safe also for others to be safe.

i just got a certificate not so long ago on my basic welding class which we do fusion welding, mig welding, filler rod welding, brazing welding, etc. for each of those weld we have to weld in different ways such as welding in straight line, welding bolts to sheet of metal, welding sheet of metal to a door or fender etc., doing over lap welding, and couple other welding. on the other hand we weld thin sheet metal, which is harder to weld since it burn through easy instead of using thick sheet of metal that wont burn through that easy. i spend the whole 4 month from 8:30am-3:30pm at school watching videos and doing quiz about welding.
