It's not your tire size then ? Wheel shake or shimmy?

Your wheels are not aligned properly.

Alignment won't case a shimmy @ high speeds.... it is a wheel or tire issue most times, how do the tires look? It may be just a balancing issue if they look alright still.

Tires are not new, and goodyear at that. We had something similar recently with my son's car and a change of tires did the trick.

It's probably just tires or balance. {{fingers crossed}}

Whoever mounted or balanced the tires may have messed up.

Back to my original thought! Get 'em on a balance machine, ASAP!

Just got back from the tire shop. Switched Goodyear for Michelin then ran up up the road at 80mph and the issue I was having magically went away. Less road noise as well. I kept the tire size stock and it rides better overall now.

I think I can call this one fixed and on to the next little thing for my new old car.

You didn't put 70 series tires on did you? The p11 already looks funny with the 65's. I know you wanted to keep the 15's but 16's look great under a p11. They can be had cheap if you get some sentra SE wheels or something like that.

Well, no, I look funny enough without funny looking tires. I went 195/65/15.

Hope I didn't offend . Just the 65's are so meaty. I like stock cushy rides too. I have had a T with the 60's and felt good. I'm about to throw some 195/65/15's on my versa.

No offense taken at all. I like my car and I like big wheels just not on this ride.

Its sort of like owning a house. Everyone should have a large corner lot, two story and a pool and get it out of their system once and for all. After they do that once, they are not likely to do it again.

I just did the mod thing and am over it. Spent all that time and money and in the end while it looked badass, it wasn't the ride it once was before I started. It took about a year to complete and 1000 posts on Bimmerfest.

Not this time, my goal is just an awesome stocker, bullet proof reliable and uber cheap and as comfortable as possible. In other words, the plan is to spend my money to get to +30mpg, not coilovers.
