yeah cut em open, and gut it. I did the fronts first than the rears fortunately I have two cars so it wasn't a problem. that price is crazy its tempting me to hook up my rusty beater se-r
while its apart you compress the shaft all the way, you will feel it engage the internal adjuster then you turn it. its a pain in the ass because it can only be done when apart its a small price to pay to have really good dampers.
I love my konis, the handling is outstanding and I think the ride is even better than stock (paired with the hypercos). To adjust them you have to take them off the car and take the spring off and do what waltg just said. Best street/track shocks. Period.

Or you can get yellows which are externally adjustable!
But not on sale
You really should check out Shawn B's thread he goes over all of this already, so go look it up, no one will be able or want to tell you as much as he has documented.

Unless you're going GC coilovers (or other coilovers), you can't run the yellows in the rear. At least that's according to Steve Foltz. I'm running yellows up front and reds in the rear on Hyperco Gen 2's. The reds are set at 1/3 from full soft and the yellows are set full soft. Although the yellows are easily adjustable, I have never felt the need to adjust them from full soft! They are comfy and my car handles outstanding.

I've got the Koni Reds paired with GC coilovers (300/200 spring rates). The ride is superb, especially coming from 3 years of Eibach Prokits and KYB GR2s. I can't remember exactly what I have it adjusted it, but I think I chose to go with 1/4 turn from full hard. Whatever Steve Foltz had set them at when he put the inserts in the struts for me was not damped enough and the car didn't rebound well off of big dips in the road so the car kind of jounced a little.
I love them though, probably one of the best mods I ever put on the car.
