I personally have never liked azenis. I bought the first gen azenis and i thought they were like whatever... I tried the rt615's and hated them. I guess each person has their own opinion. The best tires I have ever used were the BFG drag radials for drag application and BFG KDW's for daily driving with dry and wet conditions that are phenomenal.

I personally run the Falken Ziex-912s on my MR2. I....LOVE....THOSE.....TIRES.
I now REALLY have to work to break the back end loose and it trust me when I say it's no slouch. (20V ST 4AGE)

Not only are they quiet, when they are about to break over, it's not sudden or unexpected. It's a very smooth transition. They grip as well in wet as they do dry and they are pretty quiet. (For a performance tire.)

When the tires on the SE-R give out, I'll be putting them on her. (I got a while though)

I convinced my friend to get the Ziex 912s in a 225/60/15 on his 95 Maxima SE wheels and he's loving them. They grip really great. But the Ziex cant compare to the Azenis, T1R, R1R, or RE01R. The Ziex912s are amazing for an all season tire..... But fall way short of a true performance tire.

I wouldn't compare them to a T1R, etc, etc at all. I guess I should have asked the application. For a street car looking for good all around performance, I think these are hard to beat in the price range.

I'm pretty finicky about my tires. For what "MY" purpose is for them, they are perfect. Those other tires are EXCELLENT choices. I'm just on a tight budget for my toys.
