Junkyard 280mm, 2 pot brake setup for b13´s/n14´s
Hello guys, this forum as contribute with so much good info that i fell obliged to contribute...

In my search for better brakes for my EUDM GTI i came across some interesting info, some gti-r guys were using Mitsubishi EVO 1,2 or 3 2 pot calipers in they´re cars with 24x280mm with good sucess... it fits under 15´s and as some amazing stoping power... it´s almost a bolt-on job and is cheap...

quote: "you need 4mm spacers behind the discs and the holes opening out very slightly on the carriers and that was it" from:

GTIR Modifiers Club: Brake upgrade evo/clio discs whos done it?

even the center bore is the same...

After some search on the discs i found they´re spec and technical drawing here:

Juego delantero de 2 discos de freno para RENAULT Clio II Facelift 3 puertas 2.0 i Sport 16V 172cv a precio de descuento en Oscaro

Then came the caliper search, and that brought a big surprise, apparently early EVO´s calipers are common with other mitsi models, mainly trucks and 4x4´s, SUV´s etc...

Compatible models: L200 (K6/7), L400 (PA/PB/PD), Montero (V2/4), Montero Sport (K9), Pajero 2 (V2/4), Pajero Sport (K9), Pajero 3 (VD/VF), Shogun 2 (V2/4), Space Gear (PA/PD), don´t know if they´re available in the US by another name or even with the same name, both i´m sure you´ll find everything you´ll need on ebay or even on the oscaro.es site...

Beware: theres 2 types of 2 pot calipers on the mitsis, the one you want the mitsubishi part number: MB858392 - MB858404 - MR858406 , and are from AKEBONO brand... not sumitomo...

Then on the brake pad search i found out another good technical drawing, and possibly more mitsubishis using this 2 pot´s... here:

EBC BRAKE PADS - EBC YELLOWSTUFF BRAKE PADS - Yellowstuff Front Brake Pads - Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 2 & 3 CE9A :: £70.95 :: Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 1(I) 2(II) 3(III) 4(IV) 5(V) 6(VI) 7(VII) 8(VIII) Parts, Tuning, Spares & Accessories :: EVO 2 3 CE for the drawing and EBC Brakes DP4954R - EBC Yellowstuff KEVLAR® Brake Pads - Application - SummitRacing.com for the application, if you see carefully there´s some US market models listed there...

So it makes an even bigger list of possible donors... mitsi 3000gt, eclipse GT v6, eagle talon tsi... etc... models available to you guys...

Do this at your own risk, i didn´t do it yet, so it´s all hypotetical... but the info is here for the interested...
