Skip the ES inserts. Pressing them into rotton old OEM rubber.

Get Prothanes instead. They are an all urethane press-in complete replacement for the rubber portion of your mounts.

I am recommending you go with the Prothanes as well.

go prothane. the difference in shifting is night and day. especially on downshifts. install is easy. i used a chisel and a hammer and bent out the old insert and then pressed the prothane in on a press at work. just make sure to lube the insert before you try to press it in, and when putting your mounts back in the car, cover them in a light grease so that lining them up in the chasis brackets is much easier.

pat.

also, depending on how you drive/power youre making, jgy makes a solid dog-bone front mount. it is around 40 dollars i believe. engine will not move at all, but vibration is horrible. vibation with my prothanes is not the worst in the world, but certainly gets annoying on a longer drive.

You really need to read this thread again:

I posted it for you in the Overkill thread as well.

With JGY you have a 50/50 chance of being pissed off. You want to do business where you being a happy customer might as well be decided by a coin flip?

Start with F&R and don't make the sides overly stiff if you do replace them. NVH difference between F&R only with new OEM sides is night and day. Keeping in mind my car however does not make stupid power, what works well for me track, autocross, street, may not be what you like.

i was not praising jgy or anything, i just wanted to make a point that i tried a solid front mount but the vibration was too bad for daily driving.and if you do not mind me asking, who says who is on that list? is it like a one time bad experience and then you are listed as a bad seller?

thank you,
pat

Pat you brought that up like buying from JGY, a vendor on our Black List is some sort of OK idea. You even quoted a price.

I am not going to defend nor explain the Black List to you Pat in Winks thread on ES mounts. That is thread-jacking and it is considered discourteous at best.

Try using the Search Engine. Type in the name of the vendor or person into search engine, search titles only, and in the Feedback section. You can read to your hearts content and figure it out for yourself.

The Forum Staff decides whom to place on that list.
