This.

If you are going to do anything, do it correctly.

Simply slamming our vehicles is not an option, even with coilovers. It is putting form over function which is a slippery slope leading to Ricer-ville.

I have posted threads on how to correctly lower the vehicle beyond it's "normal acceptable" limits. Either follow that route, or do what amounts to utterly stupid modifications for sheer looks.

I hate this look.

My issue is I don't see "A great stance". I see a car that handles like shit, is stressing out the suspension components, will be uncomfortable to ride in, and unreliable for a bonus.

I highly doubt that anyone posting their cars in this thread has re-engineered suspension components ala Russel or Mike Kojima.

Therefore it is all ugly to me.

Because of the limited suspension travel that our cars have once the lower control arm goes beyond horizontal it starts to bind the CV axles (especially the driver side) and starts to push the axle into the transmission and wheels bearing. The real only way to correct for this is to have custom axles made that are 1/4 to 1/2 inch shorter. This isnt as big of a job or expensive as most think. There is someone here in Orlando what does it for around $200 a side. As you can see in the pic above, the RCA moves your lower control arm further down allowing to free the CV axle a little bit. You just will run into clearance issues using them.
The other problem is that because the axle is pushing into the trans it is a real PITA to remove your axles out of the trans when you go to replace them. Because of the binding this causes it in turn causes heat and your axles will wear faster than normal.

A friend of mine figured this out after going though axle after axle after axle. Here is a pic of Russell's car: and those are 17's to give you a idea on how low his car truly is.

I could be mistaken, but I thought Russell extended his control arms himself to stop the axle binding, not RCA

He extended the rear parallel links to get that rear camber. That's all I know. Maybe he did the fronts too?

^ Yep I read that too.

That car is so freaking sexy. Of course he is on 17s not 15s.

If anyone else is just gonna post pics of there lowered car and not say what they have done to correct the axles from bottoming out or are just replacing them every year.... dont bother posting. We all know what a b13 looks like lowered.
