Rear clunking and popping
Got this annoying noise seems to be coming from the upper strut mounts when going over bumps and in turns on my B13.
Nothings loose....What goes bad back there??They are unknown mileage RM/AGX setup with active tuning RSTB
I thought it was just rubber...is there a bearing like the front or what.
It seems like it started when I put a RSTB on...almost like it stiffened the rear and now its making the mount take more stress or something.
I am over it and ready to buy all new mounts if necessary.
Any input would be awesome,Thanks!

I had a similar problem. I thought it was the trunk clunking, then the strut shaft nut not tight enough, then the bushings... It turned out one of the progress swaybar end-links had hammered itself out of spec because it was interfering with one of the parallel links.

FYI: No there is no bearing on the rear struts like there is in the front.

Not sure how similar the B13 chassis is specifically with the rear sway bar to the N14, but here, the right hand side D-bush bracket that bolts to the floor of the car often tears the captive nuts out of the chassis rail due to the extra stress from upgraded sway bars. Worth unbolting that bracket to make sure, or sometimes, cracks in the metal are visible without removing the bracket.

I have popping and rattling coming from the upper strut tops from the spherical bearings though, which is a different sound to the swaybar noises.

My White Line rear bar bumps against my HKS exhaust -- but I'm sure that you've checked that kind of thing out.

I put all new suspension components on my nx. Mostly everything was wore out. Banging in the rear from blown struts. Rattling in the front from bad sway bar end links. The right side was the worst. The bushings for it were gone and it was bent badly. Caused alot of bad banging and rattling over bumps.

I bet it's the exhaust. Stand behind it and try moving it around a bit. See if it touches the chassis somewhere. Or the swaybar.

M0J0 is probably on the right track. I had my exhaust (completely stock BTW) start hitting the center tunnel during corners. A small hose clamp on the hanger solved that problem.

Also put the right rear suspension through it's full travel to make sure it is not hitting the exhaust.
