With CSKs, I would totally cut one dead coil off the front RM or Hyperco springs. No problem.

But then again, I'd probably avoid cutting up the springs and go with the GC sleeves so I could use 2.5" springs at whatever rate and height I wanted.

Yeah. For daily Hypercoils are great... If you plan on taking spirited turns at or above 65 hard beware unless you know how your car will react because without a linear spring and some good suspension work your ass end will start to swing around.

I liked the ground controls/agx's a LOT. The only issue was I never took advantage of the adjust-ability and my collars ended up seizing. That and they were noisy if I wanted more rake in the rear. You can't beat a spring/strut combo for its simplicity.

All in all I am a ricer though so take all that with a two grains of salt and a shake of ground peppa.

I was looking for a compromise between looks and performance.
It will be driven on widy backroads and on trips across town, etc. It may see an autocross every now and then, but never any real track time.

....

Previously I had Hyperco/agx and RM/AGX.
I believe I have found the perfect compromise for me.

Perfect ride height,Koni shortened struts, and progressive rate Hypercos with one coil cut off FTW!!!
No pics yet though.

This review makes me happy.

AGX/Hyperco right now on my Classic. Within a month or so I'll have CSK/Hyperco. Spec V front inserts, Reds in the rear.

Should be perfect for what I want out of my Classic.

Say that again when you are 46 youngster. Not a hemmoroid in sight or anywhere else.

However, I've broken more bones than the number of years most of this board has been alive.

If you want thee most comfortable performance daily-driver suspension go with CSK's and Hyperco. With or without the cut coil.

Correct.

Is this situation on your vehicle?

I've never heard of the Hyperco's contributing to oversteer(?). I think that would have much more to do with the rear sway bar, the stiffness of the chassis, and even the tires before I'd be looking at the springs as causing that issue. You might also check the rear sway bar bushings.

I don't think that its entirely the spring itself, more of the progressive rate and the fact that I'm so used to driving hard with a rear beam (b14) and am very used to linear springs w/ higher rates (aside from one set I had on the NX which I never drove hard in a turn). Playing with all the settings agx wise, bar wise, and etc... my rear end will always come around on me with this car. It never has with any other b13. Tires are 215/45/16 falken azenis.

I've never removed the rear bar completely, but I did go no front sway bar, stock sway bar, and st sway in the front, no and with fstb. Rear is ST and good ES bushings so it very well could be too stiff. Nontheless always oversteer at the threshold... it was definitely controllable, but if I didn't have a rwd car before I'm sure I would have been over a curb the first couple of times... The semi solution was stiffening the front up... its less bad... but do NOT chop throttle or brake too heavy in a turn with shitty brake bias

I guess I should have been more clear about that. I love the Hypercoils and they rock at lower speeds and low speed hard cornering but there have been many an on ramp that have made my bolt hole pucker so hard I pulled some seat cushion up. For all I know it could be the mismatch damping or rebound setting from lowered agx struts, or the fact that I've never taken this car on a road course to get used to it at those speeds... but the hypercoils are the only thing that ive changed. Keep in mind this is with my set up and my experiences with it.

In other words... I just keep my spirited driving humble and I don't drive hard fast unless I know the roads (I shouldn't be speeding anyway)... but that tiny drawback is nothing compared to the comfortable riding benefits.

I was ok with the RM drop, even though they still looked slightly higher in front due to the sentra fender arches.
The hypercos just made that worse.

No hemorroids here,dude,but I will be 40 in a few months,so I guess I am getting old.
I removed RM/AGX.It was pretty decent for a lowered car,but still alittle to harsh for me for a daily(300-500 miles a week)
This is a night and day difference in ride quality, but yet it still handles flat and predictable.

I agree to a point, and your input is always appreciated,Ben.
But I wasnt "shopping" for new suspension,I stumbled across a good deal on CSK/Hypercos,and already had the RM/AGX.Since the RM sat a tad lower I was afraid to cut them, whereas the hypercos look like RM now that they are cut.
I am VERY happy with the outcome.
Keep in mind I am building a track car with progress coilovers.Thats why I started to soften up my daily a little

I actually like the way the car rotates.I am well aware of the characteristics you speak of.The B13 is always a more tailhappy car than the B14 (without a bent beam anyway)
Its not a good idea to let off in a hard corner or you are asking for trouble.Throttle is your friend.

Shawn, you will be amazed at the difference the CSKs will make.
I always thought the AGX were decent, and they are.I had hyperco/agx on my NX and loved it,but this is much better,IMO.
I need to let a local racer like Russell take it for a spin for a review, just for shits and giggles.I would be interested to hear some input from guys with track experience.

Tokes...since you bought my ST front bar now,so I am running the stock front bar with ES endlink and swaybar bushings.I also have a cusco FSTB and Overkill front lower 2pt. control arm brace.
On the rear I am using Active tuning RSTB and a whiteline 2 way adjustable rear swaybar se on the softer setting.

I didnt get any pics with the hypercos on(uncut) but I have some pics of the RM/agx and I will get some pics up of the current CSK/ Hypercuts in a day or 2

The B13 will snap oversteer on the uninitiated at about 60mph. The B14 will do it at 80mph+

Let's be careful with the inputs out there pilots.
