Update.
Well, my flamesuit is on ....but before you go freaking out,I will have a dedicated track car eventually so keep in mind this is on my DD.
I was looking for a compromise between looks and performance.
It will be driven on widy backroads and on trips across town, etc. It may see an autocross every now and then, but never any real track time.
I cut one "dead"coil off the front hyperco gen2s after having them on the car for 150 miles(2 days)
The CSK hyperco ride is exactly what I want, but the front looks too high compared to the RM I took off.
Credit should be given to xxTokesxx,and/or whoever he was consulting with about doing this to his car.
I must have gone back and looked at his pics before and after 100 times before I cut my springs.
My car sits a hair over 1/4" lower than it did before the springs were cut.(just about the same height as RM2 that came off)
Looking at it,it looks the same as it did with the RM so it is not slammed.
Bonus to this setup is now I dont need a spring compressor to remove the spring from the strut in the front, but it still seats right and not loose so it can't spin.
This will be handy for me since my fronts are "reds" so they are not externally adjustable. It should make it a little less stressful if I want to adjust them.
I have the fronts set now at about halfway and rears a little less.
I took the car in for an alignment today and had to go through a really bad construction zone .All I can say is WOW.
The good...
No rubbing.
No bouncing.
No noises.
No jarring.
No bottomming out .
No hitting the bumpstops.
The bad(for me)...My GF boobs dont bounce as much...lol
In fact she noticed a difference right away without me even telling here what I did.I just told her"I fixed it and made it softer" haha
Honestly I was aiming for bumps and stuff to hit to try and I couldnt upset this suspension(within reason,of course)Just as smooth as can be.
Then I threw her around some tight corners and switchbacks.Still handles nice and flat when pushed, but handles mid-turn bumps and dips way better.
I honestly felt like the AGX s got a bad rap until I tried this CSK setup.
Previously I had Hyperco/agx and RM/AGX.
I believe I have found the perfect compromise for me.
Perfect ride height,Koni shortened struts, and progressive rate Hypercos with one coil cut off FTW!!!
No pics yet though.
