To me "spec" on an axle nut is as tight as I can get it!

IIRC, the rotors in the 11" fastbrakes kit are just VW Corrado rotors. You should be able to source some blanks to replace them instead of getting what I presume are much more expensive ones from FBs.

I know FB no longer uses corrado rotors for their kit, that said I am not sure if the corrado rotors would still fit.

Fastbrakes does sell a econo version of the rotors that are plain.

Go for it and report back. I'm going to be changing my rotors before too long.

I can't find the plain front rotors on the fastbrakes websites... I left a message for Brian at Fastbrakes to ask about their blank prices. From what I'm reading the Corrado g60 are the best option w/o redrilling (don't quote me) and they are listed as 4x100... I'll check my local Autozone and get some measurements but they should work, and from what they are listing they are 35 dollars each... Part Number: 3482

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/Duralast-Brake-Rotor-Front/1990-Volkswagen-Corrado/_/N-ih0ctZ8knrq?counter=0&itemIdentifier=48787_172993_2708_

That's not bad. Keep in mind these are plain faced, no drills or slots...

edit:

Measurements
22mm (0.866in) thick rotor
39.2mm (1.54in) from inside rotor face to wheel mating face
17.2mm (0.677in) from outside rotor face to wheel mating face
280mm (11.02in) diameter rotors
65mm (2.56in) bore

I'll take some measurements of the fastbrakes rotors when I take them off early this week.
