I hope you ordered the "US Built" That's a reference to where the car was made, as there are differences between the Japan and US cars(obviously). The Japan parts aren't meant to hold as much of a load as the US ones.

Sorry I hadn't seen this post earlier.

Pretty sure the balljoints I bought were Japan made, and the steering rack boots US made. Is this big enough of a deal breaker that I need to have them switch the order before it ships?

If you can still do that, then I would recommend it.
But its up to you, I'd just rather be safe than sorry.

Most likely your b14 was US built. Unlike b13's where most of the SE-Rs were us and the NX's were Japan. Look on the tag in your door jamb it should say so.

B13 --> '94 SE-R.

The sticker on the Jam doesn't say anything. Unless manufacturing location is a "code".

Just look at you vin what is the first digit of your vin # 1 is US and J is Japan.

I have a sort of similar question so I will post up.

I am looking for a manual steering rack but it asks me if it is a Japan built car or a US. Does it matter either way? I have a 3 SE-Rs and they are all US built. Will a Japan rack fit and work properly in the US cars?

If your steering rack boot actually fit, please post the part no, as all I can seem to find anywhere are the wrong size.

For the ball joint, Moog K9449 is the one you want. There is one that is cheaper, but lighter built and non-greasable, I think. The last pair I ordered were $29.68/ea from Amazon.

Those are the ball joints I ordered, so we're good.

I ended up with both ball joints, new tie-rod ends, rack boots and a new drivers cv-axle for $178 shipped.
