Hm. I didn't notice the slotted Brembos. I can't find them now either. How did you even come across them?

When you visit Import Replacement Parts and choose the brake rotor section there are many brands to choose from. Of the Brembo rotors, they have OE blanks as a choice, drilled rotors as a choice, and slotted rotors as a choice. Along wiht plenty of other brands a configurations as choices.

But when you choose the Bbrembo slotted option, I'm pretty sure all it does is show you the regular blank options. The way the site works isn't great I think.

Getting the proper sized 4x100 rotors from rockauto.com is simple and easy and cheap.

For the Maxima rear brake conversion you want a 258mmx9mm rotor for an NX2000.

Rock auto has some of them on clearance: BREMBO Part # 08544340

They're like $16 each + shipping. For Brembo blanks. How can you go wrong?

The ones I got were Raybestos 96155R, which are all of $18 each.

You can have them slotted if you really want. I wouldn't, but then my car is a race vehicle, and I don't care if they look cool or not, I just want them to work.

I found the Brembo rotor you're talking about, but it doesn't say anywhere whether it is 258mmx9mm or not. The part number matches up to the one you gave me, though. You are positive this is a 4x100 rotor that will work with the Maxima rear brake conversion? $16/rotor is a hell of a deal.

EDIT: Looks like import replacement parts has the same rotor under a different part number for 17.50/rotor. Part #25150

a Google search for "BREMBO 08544340" yield the following site:

Brembo Original Rear Brake Discs (P/N 08.5443.40) fits Nissan Almera

"Diameter 258mm
Thickness 9mm"

Looks like it was also the same part for mid 90's Sunnys and Almeras, which makes sense.

When I ordered mine, I didn't actually search that far, as the Raybestos part was only a couple bucks more and says '10.16"' in the description.

I don't think slots or holes do a damn thang.

Supposedly they vent gases and brake material to keep the friction surfaces clean. I have felt the difference between drilled and slotted vs factory and the D/S stopped a lot faster. I have yet to feel just slotted vs factory. But then again I'll have NX2k fronts and Maxima rears soon.

Great info.

If the NX2k rear rotor is the right part, why are we still calling it the Maxima rear bake upgrade?
Does the NX2k have larger brakes than the SE-R in the rear as well? (And why didn't I know this?)
Do the NX2k calipers work with the upgrade too instead of needing the Maxima calipers? (that would help avoid needing the G20 e-brake brackets for the complete package)
Why don't we just start calling it the NX2k rear brake upgrade now to avoid a lot of confusion and help people find the right parts?

Am I missing something here?
