Yep, I sure did. In my head I read "Altima MC" instead of what you wrote. I'll go edit my post to make it clearer. :o

I've altered the percentage bias in the explanation in an attempt to be more realistic. I do believe the base-line for proportioning valves is 50/50 and the diameter of the rotors and size of calipers accounts for the bias in the system (one way or the other). If tweaking needs to be done with the proportioning valve, I think 50/50 is where they start and they don't like to stray very far from that (it would mean your rotor sizes are quite mismatched).

Ben correct me if I'm wrong but doesnt the nx2k ,the b13 se-r and the b14 have the same 7/8 bore ? That is what i was allways told .The stamping on my 96se-r m/c was the as my stock m/c that was on my 91 b13 se-r making them both 7/8 as you stated the b13se-r bore is smaller .

You are not wrong, according to the 94 and 95 FSM that I have read for the Sentra and 200SX, the master brake cylinder is the same.

I think my MC has gone (nx2000 no-abs) I have an altima Mc. Can I use the Altima MC with the nx2000 proportioning valves to keep a similar bias but with a firmer pedal? (especially since the nx MC is shot!?) thanks

the NX2000 has a firm brake pedal, I could not imagine it any firmer. For that reason I am not going to run stainless steel lines. A lot of Nissan master cylinders and brake calipers will exchange among lots of different models. The Ad22Vfs are large enough to handle most anything the B13 can throw at them. I think you could eventually over do it when simple is a lot of times better and easier.

No man my stock master cylinder has died ie brake goes to the floor. I have a altima mc kicking around off a 95. hoping to use that to repair but as my rears are not upgraded i want stock brake bias.

The Altima MC is recommended for usage when upgrading the front SE-R brakes to NX2000 units (with no change to the rear). That being the case, I would think it should be fine to use the Altima MC for your application. If I were you, I'd try it and see how it works. Be careful to thoroughly bleed your "new" MC and your brake lines to ensure a good hard pedal. Everyone appreciates a good hard pedal.

thanks bill,
now i've never seen how to bleed the MC. Is that just a by product of bleeding the lines? i certainly dont see a bleed nipple on the MC itself. Thanks
