On a few unrelated notes I'm really kind of annoyed right now with my so called 'friend and mechanic'. Dropped my car off to him at 630 am before I went to my second job...he said he'd have it done by 4pm when I got out. He calls me at 230 and says that the parts won't be in to Napa until 4pm...I was like wtf, why did you wait to try and get these parts? Gave me the runaround so I was like whatever, I'll be there at 415 and hang out while you're doing it. Well I get there and he says 'hey the wheel bearing isn't the problem at all, your axle nuts are loose!'. First I was like huh? I made sure they were properly on 3 months ago when I did both axles. I took his word for it and assumed I may have made a mistake. So he's dilly dallying around for about a half hour getting my stuff tightened up and I told him to change the oil while I was sitting around so he's filling that up too. So I left his place around 6pm to go home thinking I was all set, fresh oil, fresh torque on some axle nuts and good to go right? Nope, same f*king noise. I'm pretty steamed right now because I'm still assuming my wheel bearing is bad and he just kind of made up an excuse about my so called loose axle nuts to get me out of there. He's the type of guy that has way too much on his plate to do and never gets a 1/4 done of what he says he will. So I'm done with him as he still hasn't returned my text or call over 2 hours after I told him it's making the same noise. So basically I gave him 40$ for an oil change. I think I am going to attempt the bearing replacement myself, I'm not new to mechanics or working on cars it's just that I've never done a wheel bearing(which is pretty much the only front end piece I haven't changed on a car).
I'm going to send nate a PM to get some advice on how to go about doing this and go from there. Tired of lazy people wanting money for half assing their job.
Sorry for venting on the thread,
Joe
