problem with suspension
ok so last friday i got my new suspension put on..kyb agx struts and road magnet springs..now my problem is that the entire passenger side of the car is sitting about a half inch higher than the drivers side..the drivers side of the car looks great but the passenger side is sitting too high..i took it back to the shop where i got them installed and they put it up on the lift halfway, looked over everything and they told me everything looks fine and that the springs might be defective

i doubt it..that two springs would be bad ? i'm gonna take it to my regular mechanic tomorrow and see what he says. in the meantime do you guys have any suggestions or any ideas as to why this is happening ?

... did you put the rear springs on one side of the car, and the front ones on the other?

i have a similar problem. i have h&r springs and non adj. shocks. the rear passenger side sags about 1/2 inch lower than the rest. its very confusing. hopefully someone can chime in with some answers.

I would make sure they put the right springs in the right spots like stated above. the rears on one side or something. road magnets are very confusing to figure out which are front and which are rear at least for b13. If I'm not mistaken the fronts are SLIGHTLY thicker then the rear.

I remember using a caliper on my road magnets. I think they were only 4 mm thicker in front or something.

Really? I thought it didnt matter since road magnets give the same drop all around..

How would i go about knowing which springs are for the front and which for the rear?

do this. its just a very slight difference just barely noticeable to the naked eye. There is a difference. the springs themselves are the same length and the drop is the same but i suppose its different spring rates and settles down different.

So i should measure them somehow?

On B-13 Road Magnets: the Rear coils ARE narrower guage wire. If you've got a set of vernier calipers, the Rear springs will read about 12.2mm wire diameter (guage). The Fronts are about 12.8mm wire diameter (guage).

A quick way to check would be to take a 12mm wrench ("open" end) and try and slip it over the spring. It will fit over a Rear spring, but not fit over a Front spring. Even if it does fit over either spring, the difference in the "fit" over the spring should tell you which is the heavier guage wire (Front Spring).

Road Magnets are marked with a small hand-painted "F" or "R" on the top of the tighter wound coils. Obviously with them installed, you're not going to be able to see that though.
