A. Was is specified when you ordered your shocks for what type of spring / coilover was going to be used? If it was specidfied that they were to be used with springs, then it would be OEMs fault 100%. If not specified, then it is a little of both parties.
B. Even though Shawn B posts the info, it does not make him responsible for what happens with that info, not saying you think it is, just saying. With that the user HAS to do their own research to make sure the setup they want will work.
C. The over used term "custom" refers to what has to take place in order for that thing to happen. In this case it is not an off the shelf part that you bolt to your car that the manufacture says works, it is custom made to YOUR specs, if B15 yellow rears were not listed as an option, then why did you request them? Sounds pretty "custom", they may have thought you knew what you were doing or were misinformed themselves.
Are you 100% at fault, i dont think so. Is OEM 100% at fault, i dont think so. It seems there was a breakdown in communication or a lack of knowledge on both sides. YOU need to contact OEM directly by phone, not PM or email or post, and find out where the lack of communication came from. Sorry this happened and i hope you straighten it out but the answer, in this case, is not easy.
Sorry i had to say this but someone did.
You have analyzed and broken down this current awkward scenario perfectly.

A. YES, It was specified that Road Magnet springs would be used. Not coilovers or even OE springs.
B. I never placed any blame or responsibility on Shawn B. This discussion started with OEM's work an no other party in question. Yes I am aware that he did the research and put it together for everyone, but he holds no responsibility for what we do with it.
C. I'm not throwing around the term custom outside of the term CSK's. The Spec V B15 inserts WERE an option when these were ordered and that is why they were requested.
I don't appreciate you making it seem like OEM made something that I wanted and now I am to blame. If a company advertises professionally done work, then it is the company's job to deliver the goods. If they feel they have the technical know-how to deliver a product is their own call to make. But when the product does not get made correctly, I also don't agree with the buyer needing to pay to remedy a situation which should have been avoided altogether. The communication breakdown was not on my end because anyone can vouch for me on this forum that communicating with someone I am buying from or selling to is something I take seriously. If it falls on OEM for lack of knowledge, then fine. I admit to not having the knowledge to make CSKs, because if I did, I would have done them myself and avoided paying someone to do it for me. Who one here would pay for something to be made incorrectly? Who would pay when it can be done on their own?
Lastly, Shawn B, I have lots of respect for you. I am not sure if you felt I was placing blame or responsibility onto your shoulders. If so, I apologize.
