Thread: Duralast pads on a street car

I come from the school of Repco/Axiss MM, but honestly they wear kinda quick and are usually not stocked in stores. And the lifetime autozone warranty kinda rocks. Whats your opinion?

We use Autozone Gold pads on a lot of customers cars. They seem pretty good but the golds aren't made for the B13 SE-R with stock calipers. Otherwise I would have them on my car instead of the squeaking Thermoquiets.

I have them on the rear of my P10 - they were free; but I can't complain about the rears (not that they do much).

Your right, they only had reds. But for $33.00 and lifetime I was like, WTH??

they are OK at most. i used to sell them. had them on the b15, and then i returned the set within the first 2 weeks. it was quite a difference from oem -> advance cheaps -> pbr metal masters -> duralast gold -> brembo sports

they are quiet, but lack bite and once they get some heat, they fade like crazy. for the rear you cant go wrong with them though if your not autox/tracking the car.

1 week now. Not bad at all for cheap pads...

im just curious on how you were burning the pbr MM up so quick. mine lasted me a good 30k miles with sticking calipers and rusted hardware. that was after a couple track and autox days, and driving like a madman in town. they could have lasted more, but i just changed them with calipers.

personally, i dont use anything Duralast on any friend's car. I value their lives too much. Never have I ever trusted Duralast.

if u dont have any other option availble ($$$$$) do it, otherwise use a better brand.

it's not the money part. It is the quick availability and steetability. I am no longer racing the NX, just drving it to make it last.
And so far the Duralast do bite well when broken in.
I been thru a lot of pad brands. These just seem to dust like hell...LOL
