I had some open-ended 8-point wal-mart lug nuts that you can just remove with a 3/8" extension, and they froze (rust/corroded) after the car sat for 2 years. Bent one extension, broke 3 keys, and one custom-made piece of square stock that was made out of tool steel (that was wild, by the way!). Thought I was screwed.
Took this stuff, sprayed it ~10sec each lug, and "pop" they came right off with hand tools. No kidding. I hear this stuff is expensive, but, it's great for jammed metal bits! $0.02, good luck.
Thanks. If it comes to that I'll buy a new loaded caliper. Still a good idea. Especially if I can't find a loaded caliper. So far that's the case.
I think once we get the caliper off and on a bench we will convince the parts of the snapped pin to come out. One concern is that the channel for the slider boot/pin may be damaged and require replacement. At least I will be able to limp it home.
One thing I am considering is install my P10 rear brake upgrade and Altima Master Cylinder. Both are junk yard take-offs that looked to be recent replacements. ~$20
I bench bled the MC about two years ago and never installed it. The initial plan was to hold off on the upgrade until I could get new ss lines. My Goodridges are 5 years old or more.
