rear brakes dragging after replacement
so i've replaced the brakes on my car a few times in the past with no real issues.. well this time i had to really work to get the damn pads in.. i have only done one side so far but i noticed its super fuckin hard to turn the wheel by hand.. so i figured i'd take it for a spin to let em set in.. well i did an after using the brakes several times they're still dragging..

did i do something wrong? the pads fit right in an look identical to the ones i took out.. an i pushed the caliper piston in as far as i could with the C clamp.. just not sure whats goin on here..

fyi stock se-r brakes all the way around.. nothin special

any helps appriciated..

oh no, you pushed it with a c clamp? that must have been hard...

you have to spin the piston while compressing them on rear brakes and the slot in the piston has to line up with the dot on the pad

I've never taken rear caliper pistons out, I imagine they have some type of thread like a screw since you have to spin and compress them, you probably destroyed that thread.

I did my rear brakes like 2 months ago, all I did was spin the piston and they went in, pads were worn all the way out too.

there was no spinning the thing by hand.. but the c clamp has a spinning tip so when i tightend it, it spun inward.. the dot on the back of the pad lines up with the hole on the piston just fine.. i think it might just take a little driven to get it to work right but idk.. seems like from the little drivin i did around the parking lot it loosend up a tad.. however all i can smell is hot brake pad now lol

ok so i jus took it for a 3-4 mile drive, stomped on the brakes pretty hard a few times, as well as slowly applied the ebrake a few times an when i got back an jacked the car up the wheels spinning freely now!!

so i guess i'll have to do the same thing with the other side...

strange i never had this issue before when replacing the pads.. maybe these pads are just a nut hair to big or something.. idk..
