Non GC coil sleeves with Eibach springs
Wondering if anyone has tried out some of the "other brands" of coil over sleeve kits available for the sentras?

I'm thinking if the sleeve kits are pretty much the same, then won't such a kit with GC's eibach springs offer the same thing for a lower price?

yes I got my flame suit on, but at $400 x 8 + shipping the GC kit is a bit pricey where I am.

Yeah its been done. Really its the smart way to do it. GC's are just overpriced sleeved coilovers. As long as you have the right spring legnth's then youll be good to go. I recomend going with 325lbs for the front and 300 for the rear. It gives a nice rotation but doesnt ride super rough.

Ive had AGX's and ground controls for a while now with that setup.

The collars on some eBay kits are known to crack though. If you have someone in ZA with a kit then go for it. Its a buyer beware kind of thing. 380/350 here and I'd almost dd it.

Funny you bring this up, I've got default-length-rate GC Eibach Springs I'm about to sell, and this would make a dirt cheap GC kit alternative.

All the ones I saw were around $50 shipped

the springs went up a little in price, they are between 50 and 75 each, depends on ID/height/rate. i just bought a bunch of springs to complete my drag set up. they are super high rates

REAR
2.5"ID/6"tall/1450lbs-the spring reads this 250.600.1450 or 250.1450.600 cant remember if the rate or height is first but you get the idea

FRONT
2.5"ID/8"tall/850lbs(they might be 6"tall too, i forget)

the price comes out almost the same though, 50$ cheap c/o on ebay, then $50/spring so $200, you can get genuin g-c on ebay for 280 shipped, i did then sent the springs back and they sent me the rates i wanted...if you do this, ask for trevor when you call.

I previously had some full coil overs and I think the spring rates were 350 and I found it very harsh. What is the stock GC rates? I was thinking of going 250/200? For drag days I can always drop back the ebay kit's springs which are bound to be hard as nails.

Will be my first time using sleeves, so I'm not aware of all the issues, so without reading all 5000 threads on GC kits can someone tell me what would be the correct height of springs to get? And also, do the sleeves seat ok or must a proper perch be welded to the strut rather?

The defaults are what these are 350ft/250rear 7" length.

As for length, you can go with these, but if you get new springs at those rates (250/200), I would go for 8" springs, if it were me.

As for the sleeves, you need to grind the strut valve cap, then slip over the sleeve, and use the duct tape method for creating a cushioned collar between the strut and the sleeve.
