Wrench size for front control arm pivot bolt nut?
The bolt is 22mm, but what is the wrench size for the nut? It seems to be greater than 22mm, and none of my combination wrenches are greater than 22mm.

Also, will the bolt be hard to get off?

BTW, I'm installing a Whiteline LCA and I need to remove the front control arm pivot bolts.

If it is not 22mm I'm getting the feeling someone replaced it with a non OEM size nut. I could have sworn it was 22mm. Maybe there is a lot of grime on it?

An adjustable crescent wrench should work in this situation. It shouldn't be especially hard to remove.

You're probably right-the nuts are probably not OEM size (bolt and nut size should be the same), and also, they do have a some rust on them.

I did try getting an adjustable crescent wrench in there, but there's not enough space to get the wrench down to the base of the nut. I still think a box/ring wrench is best.

I think I will be doing some buying and trying.

Thanks for the response!

I seem to remember shoving a large flathead screwdriver in there and cursing a lot the last time I greased mine.

And you do need a box wrench on it....... Or air tools

Did you grease the contact surfaces between the bolt and the bushing? What kind of grease did you use? Lithium?

Installed the LCA bar Friday night. It was a 22 mm nut--I don't know what I was thinking. Took me a little over 4 hours, not too bad to install. Driving around this weekend I found that the bar makes front stiffer, as expected, but cannot make up for a 17-year-old stock suspension. Well worth time and money.

Greased with Energy Suspension bushing grease. I greased everywhere it articulates on the two pivots and in my ball joints cause I have moogs.

What's a moog?

I will try greasing as I have noticed a lot more binding "popping" since I've installed the LCA.
