Roadmagnet installation question
A coworker and I have each purchased sets of b13 Roadmagnet springs. This may be a stupid question. But after searching didnt find the answer.

At first look the springs are not clearly marked to which ones go front and rear. We came up with the one pair of springs have 9 coils and the other 8. Best guess is front gets the 9 coil and the rears get the 8. But that is an assumption and we all know what that means. Roadmagnet are closed to day so no go there. Can someone chime in and set us straight?

Look a bit closer. The front ones have a bigger wire cross-sectional diameter. I am not talking about the entire coil itself but the steel wire. Use a pair of calipers and you will be able to tell very quickly. The front have to support more weight so they are beefier.

Mine were clearly marked F and R on the plastic bags they came in. However this picture has the front springs with the front struts and the rear springs with the rear struts. Hopefully it will help you out. (And from memory I think the rear springs are "taller" but don't quote me on that.)

Tons more pics here: http://www.sr20-forum.com/50599-post21.html
I'm seeing 8 coils on both front and rear springs it looks like.

I got a pair of digital calipers and measured the wire dia. Thanks Nate. They are different. It was just a little confusing. Looking at them standing on the counter at free length, hardly a difference. No markings on the springs themselves. No labels on the bags. Not a thing..

Ben, I appreciate the picture as well. It will help us out tomorrow just to be sure.

Hopefully everyone elses are labeled so it wont be a big deal for them. But if there is any questions, this thread should help them figure it out.

Thanks Guys !

Mine weren't marked either, I just searched and found that they had different wire diameters and eye-balled it. The car looks like it's sitting right, so it's all good.

I guess you could always put like a 50 lb. weight on the springs and see how far they compress. The weaker ones go in the back.

I just received my rm's a couple of weeks ago and were not marked either. I will be installing them Wednesday but I don't have any measuring device. Any other way of telling the difference from front and rear?

The labels should be on the boxes the springs came in. At least that's how it was when I got my B14's.

My RM's came in today & only 2 of them are marked, 1 with a "R" & another with a "F" in white-out.
