Rear beam bushing replacement who's done it?
I have as always searched for answers, ideas. The car is on stands with it's butt in the air. Who has done this and what can you tell me about the job. I only have the two bushings that go on beam. The part that is just infront of the rear wheels on the underside. I've read that some have cut the bolts to free up the beam and just bought new ones in replace of. I saw the brake lines so I'll disconnect them form the beam. Will I just need to take these bolts out and then it lowers down? Or will I have to take the entire rear section out? I do plan on replacing the bushing that is in the center of the rear beam itself. I think it's around $100.00 from the dealer( forget it's name ).Just wanted input as always and what I'm about to get myself into. I just completed the front so surely the rear can't be any worse. Thanks to all. I will post pics of all the once I'm done.

Yeah I read this one a few hours ago. It helped more than anything else I came across. I look some more tomorrow when I'm not on this phone.

Its a fun job, you have to cut the old bushings out along with a metal sleeve.

To remove the beam unbolt those 2 front bolts for the trailing arms, unbolt the shocks, disconnect the e-brake cables, remove the calipers, and unbolt it from the multi link part in the center and it should come out. Depending on rust you should not have to cut the bolts out. G-spec sells the ES trailing arm bushing and he also has 2 of the 3 replacement bushings for the multi link part.

Nope, not I. I had an "almost" separate problem with the rear beam being supposedly shifted to one side. I still haven't corrected it yet, though. I'm thinking it's probably the body that's shifted on the frame, now that I'm almost 100% sure that the rear was hit.

I may replace the bushings in the rear now that you mention it, though

Well no rust on the car to worry about. I'll PB blast the trailing arm blots. I was hoping to just be able to take those bolts out along with a few other things (loosen e-brake, etc.) and just lower that part down. Then replace those bushings, pop the bolts back in and then deal with the panhard part. But if I can't and the whole section HAS to come out then I need to figure that out this week. In the meantime I'll look into the panhard bushings.

It doesnt have to come out, mine was out for other reasons and it was easier to work around it from any angle. You could cut them out and use a giant C clamp to put them back in with it in the car but for the extra 1/2hr of work to pull the whole thing it will make your life a little easier IMO.

I may just pull the whole thing... we'll see. I just got back from ordering the Panhard bushings from my dealer. Parts will be here mid week. I guess I'll start taking things apart tonight. Can't be any worse than the front suspension or the motor mounts.
