That my friend is the correct answer.

See Pretty Whites thread on this subject on the Other Forum, Suspension section.

Just read that section. It has been recently updated and includes a link to Pretty Whites thread.

(What a pain in the ass. Updating on two forums. F*ck me running.)

A very good idea, but not necessarily.

The H&R's will work fine with CSK's for a daily driver.

However, the H&R's will suck with the AGX's and probably blow the struts.

Bingo again. You win a chocolate chip cookie.

Agreed.

That is not an "IF".

The AGX's will NOT work with the H&R's and you risk damaging the AGX's. Pissing away the $400 bucks you just spent on struts.

I don't understand pissing away the AGX money (?).

Why not just save up a couple hundred more bucks, and buy CSK's? Pretty White is ecstatic about his CSK/Pro-kit combo. And the specs on the Pro-Kits and H&R springs is nearly identical. 1.5" drop and "20-30% stiffer" than stock.

CSK's paired with your H&R springs and you only lose 0.50" of travel over OEM, with a slightly stiffer spring.

You are one (1) good set of CSK's away from actually solving your suspension issue.

I'd much rather have CSK's with a workable spring set than the Tiens. No question in my mind. Hell, you could upgrade the CSK's later with the GC coilover sleeves (Steves favorite street/HPDE suspension), or with RM's/Hypercos.

You want to go faster, but for now stick with a sh*tty suspension? That is begging for trouble, you'll go faster alright, right into a ditch.

Listen to Shawn. He's an ornery cuss but he's made himself learn more about the bouncy part of our cars than anybody else here.
Sounds like when it's time for me to start spending $ again I should trade in the Hyperco/AGX on H&R/Pro-kit, huh? I'll go read PW's piece.
How ya doin', fella?? How goes the car?

Shucks Jerry....thanks for the kind words.

Geezus, I still clearly remember there being no Suspension Thread. It sucked, it took me a few months to figure out what was up with our suspensions, and the appropriate path for properly upgrading without screwing things up worse.

Nope.

Hyperco and/or RM > Any Other Conventional Springs.

Keep your Hypercos and mate them up with the CSK's. That will be an excellent daily driver/HPDE, full-OEM-travel, set-up.

Pretty White already owned the Pro-Kits, hence his using them. He "tested" Steves theory that the "Other Springs" that have a minimal drop (>/= 0.50") will work fine with the CSK's for a comfy daily-driver. You lose very little travel, significantly upgrade your struts, and have a slightly (20-30%) stiffer spring. PW was ecstatic with the results on crummy NY roads.

Doing well. Parts are piling up for the vehicle. I'm looking at my genuine factory Tsuru lights and grill sitting on a shelf right now.

Had a financial set-back when I got hit with a "drug user" tax recently. We have some stupid drug laws in this country, and I got caught.

That's OK. I'll have the funds to actually fix the vehicle by late spring. And fix it waaay right with some thoughtfull (suspension - body rigidity) upgrades while I get it fixed/painted. The Truchoice sub-frame connectors, and an IKEA brace, both welded in place while getting the body-work done. That will nicely compliment my current AT RSTB, and my Cusco FSTB. The chassis cannot be too stiff.

Also gonna upgrade to the Tsurus, an NX radiator, Odyssey battery, and a few other odds and ends while rebuilding my baby. Greg V is gonna love me.

Then I am buying CSK's to go with my Hypercos. Which should put my Classic deep into the "excellent" daily driver category.

Thanks Shawn I was waiting on you to chime in. Thats why I made this post, im still new to the B13 world, I remember reading your suspension FAQ a while back, I have to look it up again. I dont know the CSK's ill have to look them up, I just remember everyone getting AGX and figured they were good enough to have, to tell you the truth I didnt research this enough (havent had the time to).

Like I mentioned before Ive got the current setup because I had no other choice at the time and it was cheap as hell and solved the issue for my move to another state and the drive there, I installed all the components two days before I left. My car doesnt ride bad, in FL and the drive up the car handled and felt great, it was just in the NYC wobbles, potholes and crappy roads that the ****ty suspension setup can be felt. My shocks havent blown and the car handles ok for a daily. Right now its solving my problem, im looking to mod the car in the future, right now its tough with my living expenses but once I get the right job I want ill "do it right". Thanks for all the comments guys.

I drive the car once a week, so its not tha biggie, the subway pass takes care of the rest

PM me, I will let you drive on the worst roads in my car, take you thru some serious dips then you decide whether you want to blow money on AGX's or get CSK's.

I'm in the same boat, how ever I just bought a set of Road Magnets that I'm putting on today actually. My current setup is AGX/H&R's with Koni 44MM bump stops. And I bottom out everywhere. Then again, I think the person I bought these from cut one of the coils because I bottom out more with the AGX's more than I did with stock front struts.

I would go with a not so low spring, but I if you have low funds the go with the AGX's.

Cool. CSK's I'll go find when the time comes. Glad yer well. Bah on the tax. The tax is preferable to the mandatory lodging, however. Yah, I've had a set of bushings both ends for a year now, promising myself this spring on the carport has to move them from the box in the bedroom to underneath the car. AND the brace. Getting lazy, I guess.
Oh - cool thing about the Odyssey is it leaves some room for some other stuff:
