IF you want to fiddle with your suspension, coilovers would allow you to slam the car (no more than 1.5" or your suspension geometry will be fuxored) and then raise it back up a 1/2" for the street.
The "best option" would be for you to read the Suspension Thread (Sticky at the top of this section) and then ask any further or clarifying questions. There are too many variables in your current question. Variables that only you can answer (budget, amount of "fiddling" you are comfortable and competent with, how serious you are about the road courses, how "low" is "low" to you, etc...).

THAT is an incredibly generous and cool offer.
I certainly hope that someone with mechanical aptitude takes you up on that offer. I'd love to have a Bilstein option to the Koni's (CSB's anyone?).
