I for one am willing to sacrafice a bit of ride quality for looks. Call me a ricer but, I am a fan of low dropped cars that ride decent.

The car looks great and I bet to cruise around town the ride quality is just fine. I forn one prefer GC's with AGX's.

yeah but why not have even a 15 year old car ride and handle well?? if you can get that combination out of a set of coilovers, or a combo of springs and struts (say... hypercoils and shortened koni's) why get something with a harsh ride? just because the car is old doesn't mean you need to sacrifice ride quality IMO... especially if it's a daily driver..

About the Ksport vs Megan choice. If they both equally suck (because the ksports suck, and megan seems worse than ksport) I would go with Ksport. Why? Because they have awesome customer service. My friend had his blown rear replaced at only shipping and handling cost.

Either way I wouldn't spend a dime on cheap suspension. Its too vital of a component to cheap out on.

QFT. My car is 11 years old and handles and rides extremely well. Daily driver.

I have a rather large amount of money sunk into my suspension (parts plus chassis reinforcement). Much more than I have sunk into my motor (negligible bolt-ons).

Further, I am going to upgrade my AGX's to CSK's, and upgrade my brakes before I swap motors (to a VE).

Other folks have turbo/VE powered vehicles on stock, near stock, or cheap-ass, poorly engineered suspensions. With stock brakes.

Which amazes me. .

Hey like I always say if we all did the same work this world would be boring. I for one enjoy making power with a car that handles decent. It does not have to be perfect just somting that rides ok. My car has and always will have a low drop. It's part of what I like. Does it handle well enough to take on a road course probably not but, I am promise I can still take it out and have fun. I am a drag racer. I prefer it over going in circles.

As for the brakes I am with you 100%. A person who builds a car for speed who trusts stock brakes is a brave man. I ran NX2K brakes up front with Maxima rears with a altima master and stainless lines. I just recently upgraded to Wilwood front brakes this past Summer.

BTW Shawn I bolded the section that made me LOL!

Louis this sounds like a strong opinion to me. I recently did my first AutoX this past Summer. It was fun but, honestly not my can of worms. I prefer drag racing. I have yet to run on a road course. I am pretty sure that should be a blast. I hope to try it out someday. It may change my mind but, for now GC's with AGX's a a progress rear sway bar is fine for me.

I honestly do not feel that my car for one handles horrible. Is it a road race prepped car? No but, it rides decent for my likings.

I also agree on the daily driver thing. My car has not been daily driven for over 6 years now. It is a toy that spends most of its time in a garage.

Gang I am not bashing guys who like nice ridding cars. More power to them. I just find it kind of messed up when someone posts somthing and people are quick to jump on their case about how ****ty their suspension is. Remember we may not all have them same definition to what ****ty is or what good is.

For example. I like a car that looks good and runs like a raped ape and other like car that handles on rails.

Please don't take my comments to heart. This is a just a friendly debate.

Yeah, I think it's easy for us (or me) to forget that everyone has different tastes...Good taste, and everyone else's taste. j/k

I think its getting harder for me to relate to the tuning scene, because the older I get, the less it is about the gear and the cars, and the more I want seat time of any kind.

Heck, I went from a VE to DE in an attempt to have more fun!

(PS I know nothing about the autocross you went to, but autocross die hards have a tendency to make it less fun, sometimes.) [in my opinion!]

OMG DO THEY!!

Sometimes I just want to smack some "vets," they just don't get it that some people autox and drive their car on the street.

Agreed.

I *think* I'll have my suspension perfect for my intended uses once I switch to CSK's (paired with my Hypercos, etc..). And add a 3-pt FSTB from Overkill Engineering Motorsports (ditch my Cusco 2-pt), just for chuckles.

I'm after firm, controlled, stable, forgiving, supple, planted and leech like grip. Perhaps "BMW-esque" describes it? Comfortable on the worst roads during daily driving. More than capable of driving to a road course, bombing it and wringing out the vehicle, and then driving home.

Don't hold back, tell us how you really feel.

I'm gonna do more digging on Megan/BC Racing coilovers. See what else I can find out.

And if you didn't know, they also make Apexi coils.

I'll start by looking that information up and doing some searching around.

Exactly. We all have different intended uses and expectation levels for our vehicles performance criteria.

I'm going with that all-Nissan-OEM upgrade, as you mentioned. No question in my mind. Plenty of stopping power for my uses.

Its not news to anyone that factories in Taiwan are cranking out crap and labeling it for any JDM tight or eBay label that can use CAD programs. cough Tein cough.
