It wasn't fair to turn Prodrifter's thread into a bitch fest so here is the place to voice your opinion on the topic.

Tell me what you think of Megan Racing coilovers and I'll do the same.

Worst suspension ever.

Maybe Megan's on a B13 are different than they are on an S13*, but I've never heard a good thing about that Chinese(?) company's products ever. The S13 I drove with them was horrid. The spring rates weren't too high (like yours) but it felt like the struts were welded solid (no matter what setting they were on, the choice was between granite and diamond). On top of that the locking spring perch washers liked to unlock causing the ride height to drop as the weeks went on.
I won't go on.

*I know KSport suspension is great on some chassis but total crap on others. I think Buddy Club is the same way. I know not all suspensions by the same company can be compared cross-chassis.

I thought they were all crap, but Rodney had K-Sports on his and paid a reputable shop to "tune" them. And he was running away from me mid-turn at Roebling.

Of course he had R tires and SR16 trans and I was in my Rallycross car (with OEM suspension), but nonetheless it was more impressive then I gave them credit for.

On a smooth track Megan's (and other insanely stiff dampers) would probably perform very well (maybe almost as well as a real racing suspension). Where they fail completely in my opinion is off the track, on the road. Even world class racing suspensions would out perform the Megan's in soaking up bumps on the street. There's no need for the dampers to be valved the way they are, other than cheap "engineering". That's my opinion anyway. And again, this is my experience on the S chassis. The B chassis could very well be different (somehow I doubt it).

Yeah, you're probably right. It's been so long since I've had a DD B13, I never think about the ride.

An interesting note: My rallycross car was extremely gutted when I got it (said to be 2200 lbs or so before the roll bar, I think). The OEM ride is more harsh than the AGX/Hyperco Gen II combo in a normal B13.

It amazes me on how some people worry so much on the ride quality. Especially on a 15 year old car. Yes a decent ride is cool but, it doesn't need to be a Caddy.

I for one am willing to sacrafice a bit of ride quality for looks. Call me a ricer but, I am a fan of low dropped cars that ride decent.

The car looks great and I bet to cruise around town the ride quality is just fine. I forn one prefer GC's with AGX's.

I don't think it's ride quality so much as it is bottoming out while cruising town. But in this case yes, it's ride quality being spoken of.

Car looks great but I have to agree that Megan is a crap suspension. I'm surprised you would throw a part like that at such a nice SE-R.

Also 94 bumper looks better sans lip. IMO 626 lip is only good on earlier style bumper.

Jealous of the Aztec red car though. One of these days I'm gonna grab one up.
