100% Agreement.

Folks *think* that a cage and 4-point is somehow safer in a street car.

Not true on either count.

But even a stock SE-R will dog-leg like that (esp in a curb cut). When you are in the turn there is practically no weight on that 4th wheel anyway. The real danger is if you have abs and do that.

I agree with Hank mostly though. 500lb is way too much for AGXs. Cages are dangerous for street cars.

The SE-R abs system was not very good. Basically the abs is diagonally linked so if you set it off with a rear wheel in the air....

I have an Xterra as a daily so I could care less if my car has a cage and harnesses with stripped interior. I am very knowledgeable on how to mount harnesses. My plans for this car are to enter time attach races and hit the drag strip occasionally. I will probably drive it on the streets once or twice a week. The last s13 I had with a cage and harnesses was put into a jersey wall at 60 mph backwards on 275 by my girlfriend and she had no injuries at all.

And while we are talking about unsafe seat belts. How safe are the b13 ser belts if you get into an accident and your door flies open?

I absolutely hate door mounted seat belts. Wish I could change that on my car...

You're lucky it wasn't in the forward direction...or worse...a roll over.

Not very...but two wrongs don't make a right. Shawnb has the right solution for a street driven vehicle.

You can change that on your car:
