Is that 31 / 30 psi measured hot or cold?

If it's hot, try bumping the pressures up to about 36 ~ 38 psi. Don't push too far over 40 though - for some reason they don't like as much pressure as many other street tyres. You can fine tune from there with a paint pen and a pyrometer.

If it's cold, check your pressures after a run to see where they are first.

Yeah, in that case I'd re-take your measurements hot before making any adjustments. There's a good chance you're pretty close to or on the mark already. Hot pressures and hot tread temperatures will be the best indicator of finding out just how close you are.

FYI, from what I've seen, MX's operate best under 39 psi and 130 deg F. If you go too much higher than that, performance starts to drop off.
