B14 AGX vs stock strut
Today I changed out the front. First of all, the car is still on stock springs. After I assembled one side, with the AGX, stock spring combo, I noticed it was shorter than the stock strut, spring combo.

Then when I compared stock strut vs AGX, without spring, the shaft on the AGX is shorter than stock. I never knew this. Is it common knowledge?

The car doesn't appear to be any lower, but I'd say the AGX shaft is maybe 1" shorter than stock. Also, I don't know the history of the struts I just took off, they could be B13 ones for all I know

Hmmmm. That's a nice observation. Sh!t a 1" drop on our cars with our limited suspension travel is awesome.

I once bought AGX's for my Se-r, they went out pretty fast. They were expensive as hell too. Over 5 bills.

Does anybody here have the shortened struts on their car from overkill engineering?
Those look good.

No, but I do have AGX's with GC coil-overs and if what Serban says is true, you better believe I willl do this.

I have AGX's and Roadmagnets and HOLY... the car is not the same car it was before. LOVE IT. My tires can't even handle the high quality of the suspension.. the break loose all the time through corners. No bodyroll at alllll

I was told that the struts came off a B14. They were mounted to B14 Hypercos and were part of a set that included a B14 rear setup (totally different than a B13), my safe guess was that they were for a B14.

Ride height is determined by the spring stiffness when compressed by the car weight. Strut length doesn't make any difference.
Strut body length is shortened to provide for more compression travel.
I have 240,000 miles on my AGX's. First on stock springs, then on Hyperco's.
