Hyper Flex
Hi gang,
This post has been a long time coming but I figured I would finally share my thoughts on the Energy Suspension Hyper Flex master kit. My 1993 NX2000 has 287k on the original motor and until recently the original suspension. Before the ES Hyper Flex, I had installed new KYB GR-2 struts and all new OEM hardware (spring pads, strut mounts f+r, thrust bearings, bump stops, strut boots). Needless to say after so much mileage, the installation of the struts made the car feel much better! Shortly after the struts, I noticed a clunking sound whenever the suspension dampened under cornering or even when I would hit a small bump or drive over a raised manhole. I decided of course to get the ES Hyper Flex kit assuming that my bushings all around definitely needed to be replaced. I felt even better about my purchase when I started disassembling the suspension; my front/rear swaybar bushings were completely deteriorated...pancaked/cracked/smooshed. It was a painful installation/removal process and I had to pay someone to break bolts loose and press in the new bushings for the front control arms, rear lateral arms and trailing arms ($80).
After paying someone to press in all the bushings and installing the new hardware, along with a quality alignment, the car feels totally different. The car feels new, enhanced...I can't explain it. I know my car well and know what to expect of it, but it's scaring me a little bit now. The clunking noise is gone of course and the car feels absolutely perfect. No squeaking, no noise whatsoever. Before, the car would CRASH over bumps...no more. The car stays flat around the corners. I haven't pushed it much but....it's great. I'm still learning, the car feels completely different. The squeamish feeling I had entering corners is nearly absent..the thing just feels great. Planted to the ground...I just wanted to share my impression of this kit with you guys. Can't imagine this thing with AGX's and Road Magnets....next up is a progress rear sway bar. I think I'm turning into a suspension nut...
I urge anyone who hasn't done so to get the Energy Suspension Hyper Flex Kit right away....you'll be glad you did....I know I am!
BTW the grease/lube that comes with the kit is freaking gross!
