Thread: Weird hub/spindle issue

hey again guys - man these cars are giving me grief.

My driver's side hub is backing out of the spindle - I was able to tell when there was rubbing on the brake pad and making a noise. Anyways, I took the assembily to a garage and he said that the snap ring is gone and the hub was slightly damaged, causing it to be dislodged and work its way out. He said I might be able to replace the snap ring and be ok, but the damage of the hub might be enough to not be worth it and get a new one.

Has anyone had experience with this before, and how did you end up fixing it?

I don't know how the snap ring can be gone, broken maybe. No where it can go. It's in the middle of the assy, hub covering one side and the axle covering the other......... Mike

go to the bone yard and pick up a used knuckle. Cheap and easy to replace...I know its used, but some places guarantee the part.
