Teasers:

I never thought the 205s looked like they were stretched at all on my 15x7 wheels until I saw how straight the shoulder was on these 225s.

Are you using the Hankooks as dd tires? How do you like them?

Yes, they are daily use.
I like them a lot. They seem noticeably better in lateral grip over the previous Falken Azenis tires I had but that might be due to the fact that they are 225s where the Falkens were 205s. The straight line traction is maybe slightly better. It seems the better tires I buy have tons more lateral grip, but finding more straight-line grip is hard to come by (acceleration and braking).
I think for a daily driver that doesn't see much snow the Hankook Ventus RS-2 is a great tire and on par with the Falken Azenis, maybe even a bit better.

I plan on moving up to a semi-slick soon, so we'll see how that goes.

I waited years and years for someone to come out with tires in the sizes I wanted. 225/45/15 in a street tire was a dream of mine for a while that didn't become a reality until recently with a couple manufacturers. Even then, not many companies carried the tires.
I thought I got them from www.1010tires.com but I just found records showing I got them at www.tirerack.com (see Bluebomber for a deal).

It looks like they still carry them. 225/45/15 Ventus RS-2 at TireRack. And the new Ventus RS-3 (225/45/15) at TireRack.

I usually go to all of the tire websites and manage to find one or two that carry exactly what I'm looking for.

Here's a list of the sites I visit:

www.tirerack.com
www.discounttiredirect.com
www.1010tires.com
www.vulcantire.com
www.tires-easy.com
www.edgeracing.com (No longer in business)

I'm looking to get the Nitto Extreme NT450 for $76/tire at the size 225/50/15.

Car is for daily use with minimal AutoX.

That is my price with mount and balance from friend at Tire Kingdom.

The Nitto NT01 will be my next tire. Nitto's are cheaper Toyo's as far as I'm concerned and a great budget minded tire. I'd love to see you running something better than an all season tire, but I assume you picked that tire for good reason.

Chill. You have a B14 you wont need spacers or roll your fenders like you would need to in a B13. I was running 225/45/15 Toyo Proxes R1R on my Enkei RPF1s in a 41mm offset as my track wheels. Never rubbed at the auto X.

You wont like the NT450s. Horrible in the rain, and its rain season for us here in FL. Horrible dry traction. I had them a few years ago cause they were new and free. Worst tire ive ever had (but then again I dont cheap out on tires)

Just get a summer tire. You dont need all season tires here in FL. Get some 215/45/15 Toyo proxes T1Rs (Thats a T not an R) for daily driving. They will give you good mileage out of them and they are great in the rain. Also good dry traction. I autocrossed on those tires about 4 or 5 times and daily drove them. Had them for about 10000 miles and then I sold them to get the R1Rs

Bad thing about the Toyos' -----Usually a bit more expensive than other tires.

But worth it. Remember.... Tires are the only thing connecting your car to the road.
