Putting Cusco top mounts on top of strut tower?
I would like a bit more travel like most of us do, i am using the Cusco front top mounts and really like them, but if i could get another .75" of travel than they would be even better. I am running GC coil overs /w 350lb springs and AGX's and a Cusco FSTB. I know i can physically put them on top and everything will be fine, but being so thin do you think they can handle the stresses? I am not sure how the GC's top plates mount as in if you need to cut the top ring off of the strut tower or not. If i leave that little lip i will need to use some spacers between the top mount and the tower. Anyone think this would work or are they not strong enough?

I guess no one has thought of this. I do not know the actual thickness of the plates but i think they are about 1/4" thick. I am not an engineer by any means but i would think the loads are too much for the aluminum. Maybe one of these weekends i will pull one out and check some things.
Does anyone have any input?
