Hawk Performance Brake Review - Who using Them?
My mods are listed in my signature.

My car came with very good braking for a sr16ve 175 crank hp - maybe 145whp?

Now with my set up I estimate that I may be at about 170+WHP and with a header and 3" exhaust I an gunning for 180+whp.

So I think I would need at least minor upgrade.

What you guys think of Hawk Perfromance brakes. I am thinking of the HPS street set-up.

Thanks.

HPS are decent, especially for street use - I've used them in stock 240SX brakes, Wilwood 11" setup, and Z32 setup. They seem to need a tiny bit of warming up but they don't make any noise and they don't dust much at all.

For moderate to serious autocross, or track time, get something grabbier, they won't cut it.

I also had Axxis Ultimates on a G20 and a Sentra - they have a lot more initial bite, but dust a lot more too.

That's about all I've tried, other than generic Autozone and Advance stuff.

I really like the Hawk HPS for street and light track use. I do have a BBK though.

I have ran HPS's on a bunch of cars ...

.'93 Altima 205-50-ZR16 tires, 2800lb 190whp Street / trackday / Drag always worked flawless !! Even after a 20 minute hard track session , never had any fade always predictable ...

Brothers 240SX 215-45-ZR16 tires 150whpStreet / Trackday ...same as the Altima, Worked great !! ..

My current Street Forester , works awesome ....

I run Hawk blues on my Track Sentra , but they are actually to aggressive for the tires I have ran , hard to modulate , seem to lock up easy.. Hopefully the new XS's will be a bit more grippy ...

Really hard to beat for a Street / Track car .... If you spend a bunch of time on the track or run a really grippy tire , you may want a little more pad ... but its all in the setup !!
