front clunking noise
hey everyone, i have run into some problems with my nx2000. So here is the lowdown, i converted my car to five lug but have only done the fronts and i am doing the rears in a few days. Here is the deal i used

1989-90 maxima
spindles/hubs
calipers/rotors

p10 g20t axles.

so with that said, everything is installed correctly and i went to drive it and it was clunkning like a tire was coming off or something. That wasnt the case, but i was wondering since the fronts are bigger wheels and tires than the rear would that have a clunking affect to the cars ride. The clunking got so bad that i wouldnt go up a hill, in fear that the something would break. everything seems to be installed correctly.

So i jacked up the car and mounted it on jack stands, put it in first. wheels were spining still didnt hear any noise at all. no clunking no nothing. my tranny fluid might be low would that effect the clunking? There just seems to be alot of variables, so i think i am going to change my tranny fluid and see what happens. So in the air gasing it and getting it in the high rpms, it dosnt make anynoise. when its on the ground driving it clunks pretty loud and even louder on exceleration. let me know what you guys think.

I've found a clunking noise on my car before - turned out to be the top strut nuts that weren't tightened properly.

Take the car for wheel allignment. A suspension shop should notice any problems I'm guessing.

good idea thanks, you think that could be why the car on acceleration would clunk even more?

I have that problem but I think it is the control arms because i have everything in the front replaced, except control arms and motormounts.
