Thread: are my springs still good?

Hey gang,

Getting ready to do a full suspension on my car. New struts(kyb gr2) all around, all new hardware front and rear. My NX2000 has 294K on the clock right now. Needless to say I am excited about the new suspension, but I'm wondering about my springs. Do they go bad? I don't want to buy new springs if I don't have to. Please advise.

Yes, springs go bad. They can begin to sag over time. It would definitely be worthwhile to get new ones.

Is there a such thing as rejuvenating or conditioning them in any way? I've already spent like $700 on suspension parts.

If you're spending that much on a nice susp. setup, don't ruin it by keeping your old worn out springs man. There is probably a material process that can re-stiffen them, but I doubt it would be cheap or worth doing.

Just keep them as backups or something

alright then...what are the best springs I can get, comparable to OEM?

Low miles used OEM. Or be cool and get hypercos or road magnets.

If the cool kids are doing it that means it had to work! And that makes me a cool kid too!

EDIT: Road Magnets...where can I get them? You guys are asses, making me spend more money. Keep in mind, this is for just daily driving.
