Thread: Best FSTB

I guess another criticism for the Cusco FSTB is that it interferes with the high pressure power steering line. It's not too bad to work around, just another thing that isn't perfect.
If you're not going to do a triangulated bar I guess you still have the selling point that yours is "solid". Avoid running into the power steering line and you'll be that much better.
I think the master cylinder brace is a great idea if it's done well. I don't know if the end of the Sentra and Altima MC lay in the same place, sorry.

Just finished the rear bar for the j-body today...just a peek into some of what will be going into these front bars. What do you think?




This was the flat bar one ... we have decided round is the best way to go.

1. Solid bar
2. Clears the power steering line
3. Clears the emissions crap on top of the intake manifold on 98/99 Sentras/SE-R's
4. About $100 shipped

Combine these 4 parameters and I think you will get some customers.

I am not going to be making a bar for that market. We are going to design a triangulated solid bar including a firewall brace and master cylinder brace. These will probably be in the $180-220 range when we are all done.

You guys let me know if there is a market for this.

For what market? The B-series SR20 market? I'm talking about a bar that is universal to all of the generations. You wanna make a 3 point bar that attaches to the firewall? Great! If I was into auto-x I'd buy one but, I'm not gonna remove my dash on my DD just to install a 3 point FSTB.

Yeah I mean that price point. I feel happynole sells a great bar for a great price in that price point. These will be for the extreme setup hence overkill.

Is there a market for a solid bar that is not triangulated? I can do that as well, maybe even make the triangulated off of its platform.

Good ideas! I will have a solid bar for a ZX2 designed and welded up tomorrow so I can post pics of that so you can verify that is what you were thinking.

I'm sure that there are some people who will appreciate a 3-point bar. Mainly, because no one has ever mass produced one for the community and there are plenty of hardcore auto-x's here. The few 3 point bars that I've seen were custom made for serious, competitive SR20 enthusiasts.

All I'm saying is if you make one that is reasonably priced and has a universal fit between B13, B14, and maybe even B15 you might be onto something.

Definitely something to look into . i guess the first question is ... is the distance between towers the same? What is different.
