I have had the longer nismo ones 70mm? I am not quite sure on the length. I have had them for 5+years with no problems, i have volk te37's which fit tightly, also the 3/4" wheel spacers were custom made and fit very tightly. I use the open ended lightweight kyokugen magnesium lug nuts.

The only thing i had to do was spot weld the back of the studs in the rear to keep them from spinning in the hub while tightening, other than that 0 issues. I also usually tq my wheels to around 90 ft lbs, always by hand. The only thing i use an impact for is anything that i cant break loose by hand.

The washer method you were talking about is sketchy as hell my cousins 240sx loost a wheel like that.

Not sure what washer method you're referring to?

The reason I ask is because I picked up a set of 6UL wheels from a Miata guy who wrecked his car before ever using them. They had a brand new set of NT01's with the stickers still on and a never opened set of 949 Racing alloy lug nuts. BUT, the lug nuts are 12 x 1.5 thread. 7075 CNC alloy lugs, black, 12x1.5 thread - BLUG12150

Since the knurl diameter and length and nose length are all the same between the Subie lugs and the Mits lugs, am I correct to assume I could substitute and be able to use the 949 lug nuts as well?

^So did you end up buying from them Joe?

Yes and no. I ended up buying them, but from Greg V, and they work perfectly. Have them on both the NX and the SE-R. Rodney has them on his red car as well. I'm pretty sure Greg V might have a set left if you want some. That's where I got mine and Rodney's.

Joe, I don't know why you weren't pointed to these way back then, but they are the same studs with the 1.25mm thread pitch. They are the same price as you found on the same site. This doesn't seem to be a new development. I think they've been available for a while.

If Greg stocked up on the 1.5mm pitch studs (Lancer Evo) and can sell them for the same price, that sounds good. I wonder if it might be smarter for him to start offering the other (WRX) studs at the same price instead...

Thanks Joe. I have both of those links saved in my hotmail now. Ben has been helping me a lot with the spacer/wheel questions I've been having. I think I am on the right track with the suspension I have in mind for my use of the car, but the wheel selection is giving me a problem getting the right Hub Bore size on the 15x7 I have in mind.

He didn't stock up on the EVO studs. He special ordered them for me since I had 949 lugnuts in the 1.5 (Miata) pitch. There was some type of shipping error and he got double shipped. So I was just pointing him in that direction to try and help Greg out.

And you are correct in stating the WRX studs would be proper if you wish to retain the stock Nissan 1.25 pitch.

So you are using the ARP 1.5MM studs and the 949 lugs now? I was going to go this route....
