Road Magnet + AGX vs. Megan Coilovers?
I can get Road Magnet springs and AGX for $725 shipped brand new; however, Megan coilovers cost only about $150 more and you get more adjustment etc. etc. What do you guys think and what experiences have you had with those two setups?

Megans are awful. Stay away!

Depends what you plan on doing with the car. The coilovers will be stiff and harsh if you daily drive the car in a bumpy area. It wouldn't be something you would want to take a date out in. AGX's and RM's for daily/some auto-X use will be fine.

P.S. You get that price from the eBay set? I would stay away.

No, it doesn't depend on what you're doing. Megans are trash, and not good at anything. They are stіff as ѕhit and still awful on a race track.

Okay I take that back, they are good at lowering a car and keeping the car off the bump stops. Not good at anything performance related.

Also the spring perches like to slowly travel down as their locking solution is flawed.

$725.00 sounds like a bit much. I've seen full sets going for the $600.00 range.

^Prices went up. Plus this stuff is BNIB. If this is for a B13, I know it's close to that price.

I'm not defending megan, but have you personally owned a set and raced with them on a track?

No.
I have driven an S13 with Megan coilovers for what could amount to maybe 6 months of ownership time.

Never raced with them on the track. I remember doing a bunch of research and everyone who has tracked them found them terrible. From what I've experienced, I can immediately see why. Stiff springs make for good lap times on smooth tracks, not stiff dampers. The spring rates on the Megan coilovers are fine, it's just the dampers are abysmal. They have the rebound stiffness to control the stiff springs but they also have much too much jounce stiffness (the Achilles heel of dampers) which basically adds to the spring stiffness (a lot). This produces a suspension that doesn't do anything it's meant to do. You might as well weld in a steel bar instead.

On a side note, this jounce stiffness is also what makes KYB AGX dampers only decent, and not great. It is what makes Konis/Bilsteins great.

^^ don't matter if he did or not. Megan is another Ksport type company, no R&D

edit: my comment is for MR-4Door-SR20DE
