I have driven an S13 with Megan coilovers for what could amount to maybe 6 months of ownership time.

From what I've experienced, I can immediately see why. Stiff springs make for good lap times on smooth tracks, not stiff dampers. The spring rates on the Megan coilovers are fine, it's just the dampers are abysmal. They have the rebound stiffness to control the stiff springs but they also have much too much jounce stiffness (the Achilles heel of dampers) which basically adds to the spring stiffness (a lot). This produces a suspension that doesn't do anything it's meant to do. You might as well weld in a steel bar instead.
On a side note, this jounce stiffness is also what makes KYB AGX dampers only decent, and not great. It is what makes Konis/Bilsteins great.
