how do i know if the wheel bearing is bad?
ok so i had the car lowered on rm and agxs with new boots and rubber what nots i know technikal... anyway i also had new raxles put on left and right. the problem is that when turning right, changing lanes right, or hard accelerating the right wheels like shakes. its like going over a thousand little bumps in the road. so with all that is changed 2 shops have looked at it and found nada. so is the wheel bearing new and part of the raxle? or is it time to find something else ala a wheel bearing? thank you for the help and please give me some input so i can fix this. and ha first post here that is actually worth the time to post... long live skeeter149............

jack the car up and grab the wheel top and bottom and try to move it.. if u have play up and down ur wb is bad. also check your tie rod ends and your tires. they could be seperating, or just need to be rebalanced. did u get an alignment after you lowered it?

this is also how you find bad ball joints - which could also cause shaking.

rule of thumb -
6 and 12 for wheel bearings and ball joints
3 and 9 for tie rods and rack

did you check to see that the right side strut is still working?
check it for abnormal heat after driving or any leakage around the seal up top.

take it back to one of these crappy shops you were talking about and say you want to personaly go on a test drive with one of the better techs there.

i dont understand that.......if a car comes in with a complaint valid and not idiotic like "my brakes shake when its icy" and i can not duplicate the issue i request to go on a test drive with the customer and they drive.

both shops test drove it an said they didnt know. the agxs and the springs are like 60 miles old. not thousands or hundreds we are talking like less the a tank of gas old. so i will jack it up and spin the wheel. its definately the right side and there is a feedback in the wheel. on turns or even lane changes it pulls to the right. like i said it feels like your driving over a bunch of little bumps on the front right tire. had a alignment done when it got lowered to. so thanks and i will keep this updated in the morning as i check more stuff.

From personally experience... I have had the same issue. Is it also pulling really hard when you let go of the wheel? To the right that is...

And if it is your wheel bearing you best bet is to get a new/used hub with a good bearing.

What happened to me was when I found out that mine had gone bad.. I did the exact test started above. It was bad.. So I took them off and the whole hub feel right out of the spindle. Pretty damn scary. So I went and bought new bearings and seals. Got them pressed in and my car was good for about 1 month then it started again.

So I decided to swap out the whole hub and knuckle. And that worked... I think mine was to messed up riding on it so long being bad. As for seals and bearing... go OEM. I don't really trust many after market parts and from what happened to me. Especially when it comes to safety.

Also... you are going to have to take it to a machine shop to get them pressed in and out. Just FYI. Good luck and let us know what happens.

Yeah sounds like ball joints.... Change them out.. Moog's are really good and come with a grease fitting which will make them last hella lot longer.
